http://www.runuo.com/community/threads/runuo-2-2-magic-pools.523532/ To further my efforts to create an AD&D style server, I made these magic pools to throw in the deepest areas of dungeons. They appear as one of 8 random looks (I only show 4 in the picture below) and will stick around for about 30 minutes. They then delete themselves. Use a spawner to generate them and every hour or so (depending on your spawner timer) a new pool will appear that potentially has different properties from the last pool. Players double click them to maybe find out what happens. Just drop in your server scripts, reboot, and enjoy the risk. There is about a 5% chance that one will simply pull out a mystical chest from the pool (similar to a paragaon chest). The other types of pools that are more common are... 1. Strength (temporary like a potion...with different levels of effect) 2. Intelligence (temporary like a potion...with different levels of effect) 3. Dexterity (temporary like a potion...with different levels of effect) 4. Cure Poison 5. Healing (with different levels of effect) 6. Summons a water elemental that attacks you 7. Turns all of your gold to lead 8. Makes an equipped item vanish 9. Lose a stat point (str, int, or dex), but not going lower than 10 (permanent, but can be regained through use/practice obviously) 10. Poisoned (different levels of lethality) Some of the drinking messages are vague as to keep the adventurer guessing at times. If you have no gold but drink from the "gold to lead" pool, it will state, "You drink from the pool and nothing happens!" This also happens when you drink from a "curing pool" but are not poisoned (as another example). They have a random 1-10 uses (except for the treasure chest pool...which only has 1) before the magic is drained from the pool and you have to wait for another one to appear. Nothing stops the adventurer from stripping down and drinking from the pool to lessen the risk, and that is ok for a AD&D style game. Caution is encouraged and that same naked adventurer may find themselves face to face with a water elemental.
